DESCRIPTION
The Parks and Natural Resources Division requested Procurement to solicit bids from qualified contractors who were interested in making improvements to altered wetlands (previously a peat mine) and uplands along the Peace Creek Canal. The stormwater infrastructure site is located near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and US Highway 27 in Dundee, FL. This project will consist of removing invasive vegetation and replanting with native vegetation, improving the perimeter berms, and increasing the inflow and outflow of water which will result in the restoration of the wetlands and improve stormwater treatment. This project is a multiyear project.

Bid 24-464, Lake Annie Water Quality Improvement Project was issued, and one contractor submitted a bid.

A recommendation of award was issued to Bul-Hed Corporation and no protests were received. In accordance with Resolution No. 13-066, 5% was added for allowance work in the amount of $157,157.00 for a total contract amount of $3,300,300.14. Allowance time for the project is 54 days.

This bid came in higher than projected in the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), therefore a CIP amendment and transfer is necessary to fully fund the project.

The total CIP budget for this project is $2,880,426.00. Other project related costs to include design and other soft costs are estimated at $300,125.86, leaving a balance of $2,580,300.14 available for construction. Therefore, a CIP Amendment is needed in the amount of $720,000.00 to fund the construction project.
