DESCRIPTION

On October 1, 2024 the Board approved Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Project Agreements (“Agreements”) with Housing and Neighborhood Development Services of Central Florida, Inc. (“HANDS”) for the construction of single-family homes for low income home buyers on two properties that are currently owned by the County.  The properties associated with the Agreements are identified as Parcel ID Number 272721-756000-004160 (1124 Avenue “D”) and Parcel ID Number 272721-756000-004180 (1128 Avenue “D”) which are vacant contiguous residential lots in Haines City.  Transferring ownership of the subject parcels to HANDS will allow it to, among other things, pull permits to construct the homes and fulfill the terms of the Agreements.  The County Deeds associated with the conveyance contain reverter provisions to the effect that if HANDS fails to fully and timely complete its obligations and requirements stated in the Agreements then the properties shall revert back to the County.  Approving the County Deeds to HANDS, with the above mentioned reverter provisions, will allow HANDS to move forward its the obligations under the Agreement.

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board approve County Deeds to HANDS for the above-mentioned properties.
