SUBJECT

title

Authorize a Utility Easement to the City of Auburndale over a portion of County-owned property in conjunction with a proposed utility project.  (No fiscal impact)

body

DESCRIPTION

The City of Auburndale has a project to make improvements to its wastewater utility service which includes the installation of a wastewater force main along the east side of Old Berkley Road which is a County maintained roadway.  The force main is being constructed primarily within the right-of-way for Old Berkley Road.  However, the right-of-way adjacent to a parcel owned by the County, which is utilized as a public boat ramp for Lake Tennessee, is insufficient to construct the utility facilities.  City staff contacted the County and requested a 15-foot wide Utility Easement along the western boundary of the parcel to accommodate the project.  County staff has reviewed the request and determined that the requested easement would not impact the County’s use of the property.  Authorizing the Utility Easement to the City of Auburndale will give the City the easement needed to move forward with its waste water force main improvements.

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board authorize the aforementioned Utility Easement to the City of Auburndale.

FISCAL IMPACT
