DESCRIPTION
Polk County Board of County Commissioners, a political subdivision of the State of Florida hereinafter referred to as “County” has been awarded a Grant through the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) entitled “BJA FY 21 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.” The approved award amount is $97,315. Funds will be used to purchase ballistic vests and helmets for our employees. By accepting the grant, the County agrees to comply with any special conditions outlined in the grant. Failure to comply could result in the termination of the award and/or a requirement to repay award funds. By signing the “Certifications and Assurances by the Chief Executive of Applicant Government” the County remains in compliance of the grant.
RECOMMENDATION
Requesting the Board’s approval of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) and sign the Certifications and Assurances by the Chief Executive of the Applicant Government form.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in Special Revenue Grant fund in FY24.
