Authorize the conveyance of County’s interest in a portion of Parcel ID Number 253005-372500-015030 to the City of Bartow and adopt a resolution authorizing the conveyance.  (No fiscal impact)

DESCRIPTION

The City of Bartow (“City”) has plans to construct public restroom facilities in, and to serve, the downtown area with the primary use being for special events.  City staff have identified an area located at the northwest corner of Summerlin Street and Wilson Avenue which would accommodate the planned facilities and be ideally located for local events.  The area is a triangular shaped grassy area which is located at the southeast corner of a parcel owned by the County, identified as Parcel ID Number 253005-372500-015030, which is the site of a building currently utilized by Guardian Ad Litem.  The City has requested a conveyance of the subject area from the County and a legal description was prepared for a parcel containing approximately 1,015 square feet.  The subject parcel is located between the parking surface and the City maintained sidewalks and the County has no plans to utilize the area in conjunction with the parent parcel or for any other purpose.       

Authorizing the conveyance of the subject property to the City, by County Deed will allow the City to utilize the property for a public purpose.  The subject parcel is to be conveyed in “as is” condition and the conveyance of the property will be by County Deed.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board authorize the conveyance by County Deed of the County’s interest, including any interests which may otherwise be reserve by Florida Statute, in the above-mentioned parcel to the City of Bartow and adopt a resolution authorizing the conveyance of the property.

There is no fiscal impact associated with this agenda item.
