DESCRIPTION
Roads and Drainage requested Procurement to solicit proposals for the purpose of Disaster debris clean-up and other related services resulting from, but not limited to, catastrophic events such as tornadoes and hurricanes. Services may include: collecting and removing debris including the clearing and removal of debris from the public right-of-way, streets and roads, either public or private as directed by the client; demolition and removal of condemned structures and buildings that pose a threat to public safety and resulting from the disaster event; processing debris including sorting, grinding, mulching, and burning; and disposing of debris at designated sites within Polk County; establishing and operating temporary debris staging and processing sites; collecting and disposing of hazardous waste, biohazardous waste and dead animals.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 26-011, Disaster Debris Removal Services was issued and thirteen vendors submitted proposals. The selection committee met on March 24, 2026, to evaluate and score the proposals. The four highest scored firms were elevated to interviews. On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the selection committee conducted interviews and received presentations from the proposers. After the interviews, the selection committee ranked the proposers, resulting in a tie between AshBritt and Looks Great Services of MS, Inc. for the second highest ranked proposer. On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the selection committee reconvened to discuss and collectively decide which Proposer will be secondary and tertiary.
