DESCRIPTION
Roads and Drainage requested Procurement to solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide professional engineering services for a proposed two-lane roadway located in northeast Polk County. The proposed roadway will begin at Access Road NW and extend south over I-4, intersecting with Home Run Blvd at Crossover Lane and FDC Grove Road. Design services will also include a bridge overpass to cross over I-4.
This project is broken into two phases:
* Phase 1 Services - Alignment Study
* Phase 2 Services - Design of the new roadway
Phase 1 Services include a project development and environment (PD&E) study. The objective of the PD&E study is to provide a new connection across Interstate 4 to improve the interconnectivity of the Polk County roadway network and relieve congestion on the nearby segment of US 27. The Project's impact on the social, economic, cultural, natural, and physical environment, will be analyzed and assessed to develop the location and design concept of the project in accordance with FDOT policy, procedures, and requirements.
Once the County approves the alignment study, an amendment to this agreement will be brought to the Board for Phase 2 services.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 24-174, Engineering Services for the FDC Grove Road/North Ridge Trail Flyover Project was issued, and four vendors submitted proposals. On May 7, 2024, the Board approved the selection committee's recommendation to enter into contract negotiations with Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. The attached agreement is the result of those negotiations.
It is anticipated that the Phase 1 services will be completed within 24-months, yet the term of the agreement will be until all services are complete.
