DESCRIPTION
This is a County-initiated LDC Text Amendment amending Chapters 2, 4, and 5 to remove Individual Mobile Homes and Mobile Home Subdivision from the use tables; Chapter 3 to remove conditional use criteria for Individual Mobile Homes and Mobile Home Subdivision; Chapter 7, Section 708, to remove parking standards for Individual Mobile Homes and Mobile Home Subdivisions; Chapter 10 to the single-family home definition; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. On October 7, 2026, the Planning Commission recommended approval of the amendment (Vote: 7-0).
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board set hearing for the first reading on November 3, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. and the second reading on December 1, 2026, at 9:15 a.m.
