DESCRIPTION
The Community Relations Advisory Council was established by Board resolution on February 2, 1993, and amended on December 21, 1993. Its 21 members represent a broad spectrum of the community, including African American, Hispanic, Asian American, and other racial minority groups; persons with physical impairments; and citizens engaged in economic development, equal employment, affordable housing, retail, management, real estate, banking and finance, and law enforcement. A County Commissioner must also serve on the council, and cannot be replaced by a private citizen or staff designee.
The appointments of Abdulrahim Al-Khatib, Sharon Lewis Mathis, and Dr. Shandale Terrell will ensure CRAC continues to reflect a diverse range of experiences and perspectives, strengthening its ability to address issues affecting all residents. These members will serve four-year terms from September 2, 2025, through September 2, 2029.
