DESCRIPTION
County Staff has met with Frontier to discuss a new project being initiated by Frontier to upgrade and expand their fiber network in Polk County in 2026. Frontier intends to utilize multiple work crews to complete the work. Frontier is in agreement to fund a construction inspector to monitor their utility work while working on the county road network. These funds will allow the county to hire a full-time inspector from a CEI firm under master agreement with the county. This inspector will be assigned full-time to monitor the Frontier work crews on behalf of the county. The cost of hiring the dedicated inspector is $155,001 and covers 11 months of inspection services. Frontier is in agreement to fund these costs. A CSA for the inspection services will be brought to the Board for approval at a later date.
