DESCRIPTION
The County has plans to replace and upgrade an existing lift station known as Lift Station 31 located along Starling Drive in the Pine Lake Subdivision to provide more reliable service to the customers in the area. The existing lift station is located within an easement which was granted to the County in 1977 that measures 15-feet by 25-feet and is situated in the southeast corner of a platted lot which contains a single-family residence. The existing easement is insufficient for the planned improvements and an overall easement area has been identified measuring 27-feet by 30-feet which will accommodate the construction and future maintenance of the upgraded lift station.
County staff contacted the owners of the property, Steven and Melanie Testasecca, to request the additional easement area needed for the planned lift station upgrade. The owners agreed to grant the additional easement in consideration for certain requested improvements on the lift station site and their adjacent property. The owners have executed an Agreement regarding the granting of the easement and the requested improvements to be included in the lift station improvement plans. In an effort to avoid multiple easement documents associated with one lift station site it is proposed that the existing easement be released of record and a new easement granted over the entire area needed for the lift station. Approving the Agreement and authorizing the Release of Easement will give the County the easement needed to move forward with the proposed lift station improvements.
