DESCRIPTION
The County owns and operates a 4.0 million gallon per day (MGD) Central Regional Water Treatment Facility which is the primary source of potable water supply in the Central Service Area. On April 18, 2023, the County approved Services Authorization No. 2023-021-01 for UCF to evaluate the treatment processes to determine the effectiveness of the ozonation process on the water quality, assess the condition of the activated carbon bed, and evaluate the finished water quality entering the distribution system. The County has requested that UCF continue to provide these sampling, evaluation, analysis, and reporting services to verify compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Act distribution by-products rules.
The original service authorization in April 2023 was $162,900. This agenda item for Modification No. 1 is for $120,241 for a total of $283,141 for these continuing services.
RECOMMENDATION
Request approval of Services Authorization 2023-021-01, Modification No. 1 with the University of Central Florida for the Central Florida for the Central Regional Utility Service Area - Central Regional Water Treatment Facility Process Monitoring and Performance Assessment project at an additional lump sum cost of $120,241.
