DESCRIPTION
This is a County-initiated request for an LDC text amendment to Chapter 3, Section 303, Solar Electric-Power Generation Facility, to modify landscaping requirements; amending Chapter 7, Section 720, Landscaping and Buffering, to include a Utility Buffer. State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on December 3, 2025, with a recommendation for approval by a 7-0 vote.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board set for the first reading on January 6, 2026, at 9:15 a.m., and the adoption hearing date on January 20, 2026, at 9:15 a.m.
