DESCRIPTION
The County has plans to make drainage improvements near the cul-de-sac of a County maintained roadway known as Cypress Point East to address flooding concerns in the area. The improvements consist of the installation of new inlets and a larger drainage pipeline to accommodate stormwater runoff. The existing drainage pipeline is located within a very narrow platted drainage easement with improvements located on either side of the easement; therefore, replacing the pipeline in its current location is not feasible. County staff identified a route for a new pipeline along the common boundary of two properties to the north of the cul-de-sac which would not impact major improvements. Easements were identified measuring a total of 15-feet wide (10-feet to the west and 5-feet to the east of the common boundary) which would accommodate the installation, operation and future maintenance of the proposed pipeline. The County contacted the owners of the two properties, Michael and Susan Stone and Richard and Portia Rodacha to request easements for the proposed pipeline. The owners have agreed to the request and have executed and delivered Drainage Easements to the County. Accepting the Drainage Easements will give the County the easements needed to move forward with the proposed drainage improvements.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board accept the above-mentioned Easements.
FISCAL IMPACT
