DESCRIPTION
The County received a $850,000.00 Federal Appropriation from Representative Soto for sidewalks in the Poinciana Community. Through the Sidewalk Advisory Committee, the recommendation was made to appropriate these funds towards a sidewalk along Caspian Road in Poinciana. The Caspian Road sidewalk project is for a 5-foot-wide sidewalk on one side of the roadway from Pine Street to Marion Lake Creek Drive in Poinciana (approximately 2.1 miles). This sidewalk will enhance safety, mobility, and access on this corridor while providing a renewed aesthetic and economic vitality in the area.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 25-697, Professional Engineering Services for Caspian Road Sidewalk Design was issued, and six vendors submitted proposals. On December 2, 2025, the Board approved the selection committee’s recommendation to enter into contract negotiations with, Civil Surv Design Group, Inc.
The attached agreement is the result of those negotiations.
The services are estimated to be completed within 365 days, yet the agreement will stay in place through completion of the construction.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve agreement with Civil Surv Design Group, Inc. for professional engineering services for Caspian Road Sidewalk design in the amount of $194,700.00.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Special Revenue Grant for Polk County Children and Pedestrian Safety within Roads and Drainage 5 year CIP.
