DESCRIPTION
Purpose - To make recommendations about the marketing of Polk County as a destination and the allocation of Tourism tax dollars to the BoCC.
Creating Authority - Ordinance 86-27, enacted September 30, 1986.
Appointments - Nine members appointed by the BoCC all of whom must reside in Polk County. Chairperson to be a member of the BoCC, two elected municipal officials, three-owner/operators of motels, hotels or other tourist accommodations located in Polk County. Three people involved in the tourism industry who are not owner/operators of motels, hotels, or other tourist accommodations.
Term Limits - Four years (limited to three consecutive terms)
Reason for appointment - New appointment.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the appointment of Michael Phillips to the Tourist Development Council for the four-year term, July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2028.
