Approve the first amendment to contract with Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, Inc. (LVIM) for medical, dental, and behavioral health services to qualified residents. (Total amount not to exceed: $1,341,217 for FY 23/24, $1,376,719 for FY 24/25 and $1,413,641 for FY 25/26)

DESCRIPTION
Currently, the County has a contract with LVIM to provide primary care, specialty care, and screening services (lung cancer, colon cancer and hepatitis C) and a contract with LVIM to provide dental services. All services are provided to qualified residents that are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. The total amount of these current contracts is $1,031,778 ($546,661 for the primary/specialty/screening care and $485,117 for the dental). Additionally, LVIM recently added behavioral health services currently unfunded by the County.
This amendment will combine the two contracts and provide additional funding for behavioral health services. Combining the contracts will allow for streamlining and ease administrative burden for both the County and LVIM. This first amendment will be effective retroactively October 1, 2023.
This funding request was presented to and approved by the Citizens HealthCare Oversight Committee (COC).
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the first amendment to contract with LVIM for medical, dental and behavioral health services.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available and budgeted in the Indigent Health Care Fund.
