DESCRIPTION

Polk County’s 165th birthday is coming up on Feb. 8, 2026. We would like to nominate a candidate to be considered for the Legacies in Polk Government Leadership program.

The program is to recognize and honor Polk County elected or appointed officials whose backgrounds or achievements mark a turning point in the history of the Board of County Commissioners. It was established to enhance preservation efforts to include recognition of people important to county government history and recognize government leaders.

The application forms will be presented to the Polk County Historical Society for final approval.
