DESCRIPTION
The Fleet Management division requested Procurement to solicit proposals from qualified vendors to provide standardized Ford vehicle acquisitions and services for vehicle classes 1-5. Vehicle classes 1-5 include automobiles, SUV’s, pick-up trucks, and other truck types weighing up to 19,500 pounds. The services include vehicle purchase, design assistance, parts, service, on-line technical access and technical training for Fleet staff. The county purchases between 75 to 125 of these vehicles a year depending upon the vehicle replacement schedule and any approved additional vehicles needed for divisions operational demands.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 26-208, Ford Vehicle Acquisitions and Services for Classes 1-5 was issued, and one vendor submitted a proposal. The selection committee met on July 16, 2026, to evaluate and score the proposal. At the scoring meeting, the consensus of the selection committee was to request that the Board authorize staff to enter contract negotiations with the Proposer, Weikert Ford.
