DESCRIPTION
Purpose of Layboard: The Citizens Health Care Oversight Committee will ensure the integrity of the expenditure of Indigent Health Care Sales Tax funds and provide a forum for citizen participation in health care planning.
Creating Authority: In accordance with Ordinance Nos. 03-89, 04-14, 04-72, 05-23, 08-142, 08-146-A, Florida Statute 212.055
Appointments: The Board shall approve Polk County Citizens to serve on the Committee. Members represent Senior Citizen, Work Force (Skilled Labor Representative), Children’s Interest, Business Community, Public Health Director (or designee), Hospital Executive, Health Care Clinic or Pharmacy, Quality of Life Professional, Primary Care Physician, School Board, Minority Representative, Specialist Physician and Health Insurance Industry.
Term: Members are appointed for a four-year term. Upon appointment, each member may be requested to serve successive terms beyond the four-year term with Board approval. (Resolution Number 23-057).
Reason for Appointment: Expiration of current term.
