DESCRIPTION
The Parks and Natural Resources Division requested Procurement to solicit proposals from qualified vendors for the purpose of selecting an experienced and qualified firm to provide professional engineering services for the Simmers Young Park turf conversion improvement project.
On December 6, 2022, the Board approved the selection committee's recommendation and authorized staff to negotiate an agreement with Florida Transportation Engineering, Inc. regarding Request for Proposal (RFP) 22-599, Engineering Services for Simmers Young Park artificial turf conversion project.
These services include design, permitting, bid services, and construction administration services in coordination with the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contractor, Rodda Construction, Inc. to convert twelve natural grass soccer/football fields to artificial turf, install field lighting systems on three fields, and two pre-cast concrete concession/restroom buildings at Simmers Young Park located at 339 American Spirit Road, Winter Haven, FL 33880.
This will be a phased project:
* Phase I will consist of the design, and permitting services for all 12 playing fields, field lighting, and installation of pre-cast concrete concession/restroom buildings; and bidding services and construction administration services for five (5) of the 12 fields, installation of two (2) pre-cast concrete concession/restroom buildings, and lighting systems for a not to exceed amount of $631,811.22.
* Phase II will consist of bidding services and construction administration support services for the remaining seven (7) fields.
