DESCRIPTION

This is a county initiated Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment to change the Future Land Use (FLU) designation on 18.52+/- acre from Phosphate Mining (PM) to Agricultural/Rural-Residential (A/RR) in the Rural Development Area (RDA). The subject site is located south of Highway 60, north of US Highway 98, west of Pool Branch Road, and east of US Highway 17, east of the City of Fort Meade, in Section 25, Township 31, Range 25. State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on October 4th, 2023, with a recommendation for approval (Vote 6:0).
