DESCRIPTION
This is an adoption hearing for a County-initiated request for a LDC text amendment to amend Chapter 2, Section 205, Table 2.1, Use Table for Standard Land Use Districts, to add Vehicle Service, Mechanical as a conditional use in Institutional-2 (INST-2) land use district; and to amend Chapter 2, Section 206.O to allow outdoor storage in INST-2 land use districts. State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on March 5, 2025, with a recommendation of approval by a 7:0 vote.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the second of the two hearings.
