DESCRIPTION

Section 197.3632(3)(a), Florida Statutes, requires local governments that desire to collect newly imposed non-ad valorem assessments through the uniform method for collection (i.e., on the tax bill) to adopt resolutions expressing such intent prior to January 1 of each calendar year. In order to collect newly imposed non-ad valorem assessments on the FY 2026-2027 property tax bill, a resolution stating that intent must be adopted prior to January 1, 2026. Collecting non-ad valorem assessments on the tax bill is the most efficient, economical method of collection.

Before a public hearing may be held to consider adoption of the resolution of intent to utilize the Uniform Method of Collection, notice of that public hearing must be published for four (4) consecutive weeks preceding the date of the hearing.

Set the public hearing to consider adoption of a resolution setting forth an intention to utilize the Uniform Method of Collection for non-ad valorem assessments for December 2, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. or soon thereafter and authorize publication of notice of such hearing for four (4) consecutive weeks preceding the hearing, those days being the 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, and 11/26.
