DESCRIPTION
On September 19, 2025, the Board approved the recommendation of the selection committee and authorized staff to negotiate an agreement with Driven Security LLC for Request for Proposal (RFP) 25-191 (South & Central County Jail Security Upgrades). The vendor will remove the current security systems and provide and install new security systems at the Polk County South County and the Central County Jail Facilities.
The cost breakdown is $3,000,000.00 for the Central County Jail and $4,300,000.00 for the South County Jail which includes contingency. The project includes all new cameras, monitors, door controls, intercoms and all associated hardware, cabling and programing at each jail. There will be a total of 324 new cameras at the Central County Jail and 400 new cameras at the South County Jail.
The agreement may be used for future security system needs at County facilities as they arise. Any future purchases will be made through an amendment to this agreement. The term of the agreement is for five years.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve agreement with Driven Security LLC to replace the current security systems, at the South County and the Central County Jail Facilities in the amount of $7,300,000.00 (one-time expense).
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available in the General Capital Improvement Fund.
