DESCRIPTION

The County has a project to make drainage improvements near Denton Avenue in the Auburndale area to address and alleviate citizens’ flooding concerns.  The improvements consist of clearing and maintaining an existing drainage ditch lying south of Denton Avenue to the east of Moss Road and to the west of Jones Road to accommodate storm water runoff in the area.  Multiple easements were needed from adjacent property owners for the improvements and nearly all of the easements were previously obtained by the County; however, an easement could not be obtained from the property owner located along Moss Road at the time and that portion of the project was not completed.  Since that time the property has changed hands and the new owner has agreed to the County’s request for an easement and the owner, Otoniel Ortiz, has executed and delivered a Drainage Easement to the County.  Accepting the above-mentioned Drainage Easement will allow the County to complete the drainage improvements to alleviate the flooding concerns in the area.

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board accept the aforementioned Drainage Easement.
