Approve Lease Agreement between Polk County and the Town of Dundee for the Dundee EMS Lease. (No Fiscal Impact)

DESCRIPTION
Since 2016 the County has utilized, under a lease agreement, space within a Public Safety Building owned by the Town of Dundee to provide emergency medical services to the residents of the Town and surrounding areas. The space includes a vehicle bay for an ambulance as well as living quarters and bathrooms, to accommodate the County’s emergency medical service personnel and equipment. The initial lease was for a period of ten (10) years and did not contain a provision for renewal terms. The County would like to continue its use of the premises to provide emergency medical services in the area and requested a new lease from the Town. The Town has agreed to the County’s request and approved, at its meeting held May 5, 2026, a Lease Agreement for a term of ten (10) years effective May 1, 2026 at no cost. The Lease Agreement allows for one additional ten (10) year renewal term. Approving the Lease Agreement will allow the County to continue to utilize the Town-owned premises to provide emergency medical services to the residents of Dundee and the surrounding area.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the aforementioned Lease Agreement with the Town of Dundee.
