DESCRIPTION
On March 18, 2025, the Board approved CSA No 2021-034-02 for the consultant services associated with a new Chemical Storage Building in the amount of $172,579.50. Modification No. 1 to CSA No. 2021-034-02 provides additional engineering services for the projects' master plan.
Borrelli & Partners Inc. has provided a Lump Sum fee proposal in the amount of $83,212.00 for additional services required to accommodate the development of master stormwater system. The Polk County Parks and Natural Resources Division intends to expand the existing lease area for the compound, and the project includes development of master stormwater system coordinated with updates to the existing Chemical Storage Building Project. The chemical storage building and pole barn will allow staff to safely store regulated materials and equipment used by Mosquito Control and Land and Water management teams for daily operation. Currently, the operations lack a centralized facility for secure storage. Constructing purpose-built structures allows them to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations while protecting equipment the teams use for operations.
Proposed site improvements and expansion of the compound necessitate the development of a master stormwater system plan for all buildings and surrounding compound.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board approve Modification No. 01 to CSA No. 2021-034-02 with Borrelli & Partners Inc. for consultant services associated with the Chemical Storage Building & Pole Barn project for Parks and Natural Resources in the amount $83,212.00 providing for a not to exceed total cost of $255,791.50.
