DESCRIPTION
On December 1, 2020, the Board of County Commissioner entered into Master Services Agreement 2020-055 with SEMCO Construction, Inc., to provide CMAR services when the cost of the construction is under $7.5 million.
On May 7, 2024, the County authorized SEMCO to provide pre-construction services for the Utilities Division’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure System project in the amount of $18,356.00. Pre-construction services are now complete, and SEMCO has provided the attached GMP Addendum to construct the project in the amount of $1,479,127.28. In accordance with Resolution 13-066, $63,243.00 is included in the GMP total for allowance work.
The project will consist of constructing 16 communications towers in the Southwest Utility Service Area (SWUSA) that will facilitate remote meter reading capabilities for approximately 15,000 current customers and new customers in the area. This technology will replace the current process of driving by customer locations to obtain meter data for billing with real time data transmission for use by both the County and customers.
The total contract time for construction is 300 calendar days. In accordance with Resolution 13-066, 45 calendar days have been added for allowance time.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve CMAR 2020-055-03, GMP Addendum with SEMCO Construction, Inc. in the amount of $1,479,127.28 for the Polk County Utilities AMI Radio Towers.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available in the Utilities Operating Fund.
