DESCRIPTION
Polk County participates in an annual grant application process to the Florida Department of Health for the purpose of improving and expanding Polk’s pre-hospital EMS system. Polk County Board of County Commissioners, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter referred to as “County” has completed a grant application and Resolution to the State of Florida, Department of Health, hereinafter referred to as “Department.” Chapter 401.113(2), F.S., authorizes the Department to dispense grant funds for the purpose of improving and expanding the pre-hospital EMS System. This grant is a fixed fee contract with no matching funds required. The grant will provide a total of $96,280.26 to the County for this purpose. Administration of this program requires the County to document and report the status of the projects outlines in the grant budget. The deadline for submitting the grant application is January 31, 2024.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board approve the EMS Grant Application for the amount of $96,280.26 and Resolution.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in the EMS Award Grant Fund.
