Approve the contract with Central Florida Health Care, Inc. (CFHC) for the proposed purchase and renovation of a new community health center in Mulberry. (Total amount not to exceed $4,000,000)

DESCRIPTION
CFHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing primary and specialty care, dental, and behavioral health services throughout Polk County. CFHC is contracted with the County to provide services to low-income Polk County residents including Polk HealthCare Plan members.
CFHC submitted a request for the funding needed to purchase a building and for partial funding for the renovations of a new community health center in Mulberry. CFHC currently operates a facility in Mulberry providing primary care and dental care. With the purchase and renovation of a second facility (13,862 square feet), CFHC will be able to expand adult medical services, pharmacy services and add gynecology services. The existing facility will then be designated for pediatrics and expanded dental services.
This contract will be effective April 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. This funding request was presented to and approved by the Citizens HealthCare Oversight Committee (COC).
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the contract with CFHC for the purchase of property and partial funding for the renovation costs of a new community health center in Mulberry.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Indigent Health Care Fund.
