Adopt Resolution renaming the following eastern section of roadway located in unincorporated Davenport, S-29, T-26, R-27 from Holly Hill Grove Rd 1 to Champions Church Rd. This renaming will affect only the portion of Holly Hill Grove Rd 1 that runs east off Hwy 27 with no outlet. ($86.95 one-time expense)

DESCRIPTION
The County's Uniform Roadway Address System Ordinance 04-89 was developed to ensure that a standardized addressing system is applied across the County. As a provision of the ordinance, the Enhanced 9-1-1 Addressing Office may name any previously unnamed roadway or rename any duplicate roadway in designated areas of Polk County, if it determines that such naming or renaming is necessary to avoid confusion, or to facilitate a timely response by emergency services. The eastern section of the roadway named Holly Hill Grove Rd 1 has the potential to cause confusion and delay emergency response. Once this type of situation is identified, the affected parcel owners are contacted and informed of the need to rename their road. In the same correspondence, they are asked to submit three suggested names for the road. When these names are compiled and the most popular choice is determined to be usable in accordance with the road naming criteria in the ordinance, the owners are petitioned by certified mail to approve the new name. If 50%, plus one, of the responding property owners agree to this change, the renaming action can be placed on the consent agenda. In the case of Holly Hill Grove Rd 1, the E9-1-1 Office petitioned the 6 property owners affected. Of the 4 owners that responded, 4 (100%) have agreed to change the eastern section of road name to Champions Church Rd.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board adopt the Resolution renaming the eastern section of roadway from Holly Hill Grove Rd 1 to Champions Church Rd.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Transportation Trust Fund.
