DESCRIPTION
The FDOT has agreed to participate in pass-through LAP funding and financial oversight on construction and CEI services on the Maine Avenue Sidewalk from Combee Road to Reynolds Road (FPN 446294-1-68-01). The project includes a 5-foot to 6-foot wide ADA compliant concrete sidewalk and crosswalks along the south side of Maine Avenue, limited areas of curb and gutter and retaining walls, and minor improvements to the existing drainage system. The overall project length is approximately 0.9 miles. The project design is complete and the award of the construction contract is anticipated in early Summer 2025.
The LAP Agreement includes $3,100,293 for construction and $128,149 for CEI services for a total of $3,228,442. FDOT 's participation may be increased or reduced upon determination of the actual bid amounts. However, Polk County agrees to bear all expenses in excess of the total cost of the project and any deficits incurred should FDOT not cover these additional costs.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board Approve the Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement between Polk County and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the Maine Avenue Sidewalk Project, associated resolutions, CIP Amendment and budget transfer in the amount of $3,228,442.00 which is a one-time unanticipated revenue.
FISCAL IMPACT
Upon approval of the agreement and CIP Amendment and budget resolution, Budget in the amount of $3,228,442.00 will be established in the Special Revenue Grants Fund within the Roads and Drainage Sidewalk CIP Project.
