DESCRIPTION
The developer has constructed a 183-unit single family home and 170-unit townhome Belle Haven development near the intersection of US Hwy 27. and Dunson Road. Wastewater service is provided to the development by Polk County Utilities (PCU). Additional development is ongoing in the area near the proposed development which will also rely on PCU for wastewater service.
To support future growth in the area and limit the number of crossings in Department of Transportation Right of Way, PCU requested the developer upsize a lift station and force main from the 8-foot diameter lift station and 6-inch force main required for the proposed development to a 12-foot diameter lift station and 10-inch force main. The 12-foot diameter lift station and 10-inch force main will provide wastewater capacity for the Belle Haven project and 3 additional apartment complexes while maintaining a single crossing in the US Hwy 27 Department of Transportation Right of Way. This agreement provides for the reimbursement associated with upsizing the lift station and force main of the proposed development to serve regional needs within the US Highway 27 and Dunson Road region.
RECOMMENDATION
Request approval of the Infrastructure Agreement with Pulte Home Company, LLC, (developer) for Wastewater Improvements in Belle Haven Planned Development at a cost not-to-exceed $497,471.00.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding in the amount of $497,471.00 is available in the Utilities Expansion CIP Miscellaneous Developers Agreement Project Budget.
