DESCRIPTION

The County is contracted with Tri-County Human Services, Inc. (TCHS) to provide behavioral health services in an office setting and/or via telehealth support. Services are provided to Polk County residents whose income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level guidelines.

The contract is effective October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2026. A fee schedule has been established to reimburse TCHS an agreed upon rate for services. The first amendment allowed for additional reimbursable services. The second amendment extended the term of the contract by two years bringing the term date to September 30, 2026. The second amendment also allowed for TCHS to be reimbursed for medications provided to Polk HealthCare Plan members when the medication(s) are not covered under the pharmacy benefit. This third amendment will allow for additional reimbursable services to include peer support. The total funding amount of the contract remains the same.

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board approve the third amendment to the contract with TCHS to provide behavioral health services to eligible low-income county residents.

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds are available in the FY 24/25 Indigent Health Care Funds and will be planned in subsequent years.
