DESCRIPTION

The County’s Land Donation Program allows property owners to donate property to the County for which there is a need or use by the County.  Representatives for the owners of a parcel of land contacted the County and offered to donate the property to the County.  The property identified as Parcel ID Number 282707-000000-013160 is a vacant parcel located in the northeast part of the County.  County staff reviewed the property and determined that there is a use for the property as it is located within a recognized State Conservation Area known as the Lake Wales Ridge Ecosystem Florida Forever Board of Trustee Project - Horse Creek Scrub.  The subject property is a square-shaped parcel containing approximately 1-acre which has very little market value and limited or no access.

Louis C. Boughton and Frances M. Boughton, husband and wife, acquired the property in 2002.  Both are now deceased, with Frances predeceasing Louis, and Ryan J. Boughton and Terry L. Williams as Co-Executors of Louis’ estate, have executed and delivered a Quit Claim Deed to the County for the conveyance of the property.  Accepting and approving the deed for recording will allow the County to take ownership of the property being donated to be utilized for conservation preservation.

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board accept the afore-mentioned Quit Claim Deed.
