DESCRIPTION

This is a County-initiated request for a LDC Text amendment to amend Chapter 3, Section 303, Vehicle-Oriented Recreation, to allow administrative approval of Boat Ramps to be open 24 Hours in Recreation Open Space (ROS) land use districts. State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on April 3, 2024. The Planning Commission voted 7/0 to recommend approval.

Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the first of the two hearings.
