DESCRIPTION
The 2024-2025 CBA results from successful negotiations between Polk County and the IAFF Bargaining Units on February 10, 2024. Some of the highlights include:
1. Article 18 - Rates of Pay: Effective with the first full pay period after ratification of this Agreement employees will advance one step. Effective with the first full pay period after April 1, 2025, the pay plan for all bargaining unit classifications will be increased by 1.5%.; Special Operation Team (Special Operations, Haz-Mat, Marine Rescue, Dive, SWAT and Drone) will receive $1.00 per hour in addition to his/her current rate of pay.
2. Article 25 - Uniforms: Each bargaining unit employee will be allocated $600.00 per year to purchase all uniforms and accessories; and, $500.00 as a Uniform Allowance for uniform cleaning.
3. Article 30 - Union Time Pool: this allows Union officers and bargaining unit members authorized by the Union President to use Union Time Pool leave to participate in collective bargaining and to participate in official union business.
The Memorandum of Understanding establishes the number of hours bargaining unit members will donate to the Union Time Pool.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the 2024-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreements and Memorandum of Understanding between the Polk County Board of County Commissioners and Polk County Professional Firefighters I.A.F.F., Local 3531, Rank-and-File and Battalion Chiefs Bargaining Units.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available for all increases, as stated in the Collection Bargaining Agreement within the Fire Fund.
