DESCRIPTION
On April 1, 2025, the Board approved an agreement with Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. for professional services related to the Southeast Landfill for engineering controls and remedial measures to mitigate the impacts to groundwater. The controls include installation of an impermeable final cover on the eastern portion of the unlined landfill as well as other remedial measures to include a groundwater treatment system.
During the assessment phase of the project, it has been determined that direct push technology groundwater screenings, modifications to the proposed monitoring well installations, surface water samples and analysis, and additional surveying are needed to ensure an accurate assessment of the groundwater impact. This amendment will allow for these services to be completed.
These additional services were approved by the Board on October 21, 2025, Board meeting as a change order under Agenda Item 25-1794 in the amount of $39,072.00. These services should have been brought to the Board as an amendment rather than a change order. This amendment will ratify the item and amend the agreement to reflect the additional services as an amendment to the agreement.
The new not to exceed amount of the agreement is $463,369.00.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve Amendment#1 to Agreement 2025-015 with Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. for professional engineering services for the Southeast Landfill in the amount of $39,072.00.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is budgeted and available in the Solid Waste Operating Fund - CIP Project 5500048.
