The County has received a petition from C. B. Myers, III, P.A., as authorized agent for Louis and Melanie Crumbley, Individually and as Trustee, Green Karma, LLC, Luke and Alison Claremont as Trustees, Patrick and Teresa Frankenburger, Moody, LLC and Harris Hartley to vacate certain portions of platted and unmaintained rights-of-way lying within the Revised Plat of Crooked Lake Subdivision recorded in Plat Book 27, Pages 47 and 47A, Public Records of Polk County, Florida. The subject rights-of-way lie in Sections 24 and 25, of Township 30 South, Range 27 East, and Section 30, of Township 30 South, Range 27 East.

The Plat filed in 1928 dedicated to the public various rights-of-way throughout the plat.
The petitioners own parcels within the plat which are adjacent to, and/or bisected by, the rights-of-way. The petitioners, have requested the vacation of certain platted, unmaintained rights-of-way lying between and/or adjacent to their properties located in Blocks 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14 in Section 24, Township 30 South, Range 27 East; and Blocks 1, 2, 3, 19, 20, and 35 in Section 25, Township 30 South, Range 27 East; and Blocks 8, 9, 24, and 25 in Section 30, Township 30 South, Range 28 East of said plat to fully utilize their properties for existing agricultural use, and future development. During a review of the petition and area, staff discovered that the rights-of-way lying west of Block 9, north of Blocks 13 and 14, and between Blocks 13 and 14 lying within Section 24, Township 30 South, Range 27 East were not included on the petition which would leave remnant sections of rights-of-way in the overall area.
