DESCRIPTION
This is a County-initiated LDC Text Amendment request to Section 221, Principal Uses and Buildings, to add standards for Flex Space and Retail Plazas; and to Chapter 10 to add definitions. State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on March 4, 2026, with a recommendation for approval by a 7:0 vote.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the first of the two hearings.
