DESCRIPTION
Pursuant to Polk County Ordinance No. 97-70, as amended, the Polk County Board of County Commissioners must adopt a Tentative Rate Resolution during its budget adoption process each year establishing tentative rates for the Fire Services assessment for the upcoming fiscal year. The tentative rates set by the Board are used to develop the preliminary fire assessment roll and are also used in the notice of the public hearing for the adoption of the final fire assessment roll. The non-ad valorem assessments levied fund the Fire Services budget and allow Polk County to provide this essential service to the citizens of Polk County. Attached hereto is the proposed Tentative Rate Resolution for Fire Services for the Fiscal Year 2026-27.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the proposed 2026-27 Tentative Rate Resolution for Fire Services Assessments.
