DESCRIPTION
Approve the CDBG subrecipient agreement Amendment 1 between Polk County and the City of Winter Haven, for the Winter Haven Neighborhood Service Center Renovation project. CDBG funds will be used for but not limited to design and engineering costs, site work, safety improvements, and other construction costs to improve the facility which has deteriorated over the years.
The project was originally slated to be completed during FY 24/25 but after reviewing the project, the Municipality recognized the project cost exceeded the allocated amount for the FY. It was decided to roll the project over to FY 25/26 so the additional funds could be added to the FY 24/25 amount in order to cover the increased project cost.
The City of Winter Haven will use CDBG funds for the above activities in the amount not to exceed $575,423.74 (current allocation FY 25/26 $296,202.74, with a carryover from FY 24/25 $279,221.00). This project was approved by the Board of County Commissioners by adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025- 2026 Action Plan.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve and execute this Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) subrecipient agreement Amendment between Polk County and the City of Winter Haven.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in Special Revenue Grant Fund.
