DESCRIPTION
The Roads and Drainage Division requested Procurement to solicit bids from qualified contractors who were interested in constructing a roundabout on Spirit Lake Road in Winter Haven. The primarily consists of constructing a new roundabout at the intersection of Spirit Lake Rd at Sheffield Rd and Old Bartow/Eagle Lake Rd (east). Old Bartow/Eagle Lake Rd (west) will be re-aligned to intersect with Sheffield Rd and will be disconnected from Spirit Lake Rd.
Bid 25-631, Spirit Lake Road Roundabout was issued, and seven contractors submitted a bid.

A recommendation of award was issued to Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc., and no protests were received. In accordance with Resolution No. 13-066, $237,706.00 was added to the contract for allowance work for a total contract amount of $4,991,838.82. The contract time for this project is 492 days to final completion. Allowance time for the project is 60 days.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve a construction contract with Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc. in the amount of $4,991,838.82 for Bid 25-631, Spirit Lake Road Roundabout.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available in the Transportation Trust Fund within the Roads and Drainage 5 year CIP.
