DESCRIPTION
The County’s Land Donation Program allows property owners to donate property to the County for which there is a need or use by the County. A representative for the owner of a certain parcel of land within Polk County contacted county staff and offered to donate the property to the County. The property, identified as Parcel ID Number 272608-000000-023280, is a vacant parcel located in the northern part of the County. The County’s staff reviewed the parcel and determined that there is a use for the property as it is located within an area between Ernie Caldwell Boulevard and Interstate 4 which has been designated for conservation preservation. The subject property is a vacant parcel with very little market value and limited to no access.
Accepting the following instrument will allow the County to take ownership of the subject property being donated to be utilized for conservation preservation:
1. Quit Claim Deed between Roy A. Clark and Sandra Howard, as heirs at law of the Estates of Jack O. Clark, Jr and Kathleen O. Clark, both deceased and Polk County for the donation of Parcel ID Number 272608-000000-023280. The property is vacant rectangular-shaped parcel containing approximately 1.25 acres, lying in Section 8, Township 26 South, Range 27 East.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board accept and approve for recording the aforementioned Quit Claim Deed for the conveyance of property for conservation preservation purposes.
