DESCRIPTION
This is an applicant-initiated request for a Land Development Code (LDC) Text Amendment to Chapter 4, Section 403.01.C, Table 4: Wahneta Neighborhood Plan - Use Table, to add “Gas Station” as a conditional use in High-Impact Commercial Center-X (HIC-X) land use district. On October 7, 2026, the Planning Commission voted (7:0) to recommend approval of the amendment.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board set hearing for the first reading on November 3, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. and the second reading on December 1, 2026, at 9:15 a.m.
