DESCRIPTION
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) requests the BoCC release and approve the appropriation and expenditure of $45,546.02 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund. This amount represents 25% of the local forfeiture collections for FY 23/24 and is being requested in accordance with FSS 932.7055(5)(c)3. Per the statute, the agency must expend 25% of collections on drug treatment, drug abuse education, drug prevention, crime prevention, safe neighborhood, or school resource officer program(s).
These funds will be expended in accordance with the provisions of the above referenced F.S. Pursuant to section 932.7055(5)(b), Florida Statutes, the undersigned hereby certifies that this request complies with the provisions of section 932.7055(5)(a).
RECOMMENDATION
Recommend the Board approve the appropriation and expenditure from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund. ($45,546.02 one-time expense)
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted and available in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
