DESCRIPTION

This is a applicant initiated request to change a Residential Low-4X (RL-4X) to Linear Commercial Corridor-X (LCCX) on 1.49± acres in the Transit Supportive Development Area (TSDA), Green Swamp (ACSC), Polk City Special Protection Area (SPA), and the Transit Corridors and Centers Overlay.  The site is located on the north side of Socrum Loop W., east of US Highway 98 N., south of Hall Road, and west of Socrum Loop N., north of the City of Lakeland, in Section 12, Township 27, and Range 23.

State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on July 8, 2026, with a recommendation for approval (Vote 7:0).  This is the transmittal hearing to the Department of Florida Commerce, and the adoption hearing is scheduled for October 20, 2026, at 9:15 a.m.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board set the first reading on August 18, 2026, at 9:15 a.m., and the adoption hearing date on October 20, 2026, at 9:15 a.m.
