DESCRIPTION
The County has received the following request to adopt a resolution vacating, abandoning, discontinuing, closing, renouncing, and disclaiming any rights of the County or the public in certain platted and unmaintained rights-of-way within Polk County. Florida Statutes, Section 336.10, requires the Commissioners hold a public hearing to consider Petitions adopting resolutions vacating, abandoning, discontinuing, closing, renouncing, and disclaiming property under their control. Setting a public hearing date will comply with Florida Statutes and allow the request to be considered.
Request Board set a public hearing date for the following request to vacate portions of platted and unmaintained right-of-way. Suggested Hearing Date: Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., or immediately following the regular agenda:
1. Consider a petition by GE Investments of Polk, LLC, to adopt a resolution vacating that portion of platted and unmaintained right-of-way shown as Kansas Avenue lying between Lots 15 through 19 and Lots 25 through 29; that portion of Yarnell Avenue lying north of Lots 15, 25 and Kansas Avenue and portion of Tallahassee Avenue lying east of Lots 25 through 29, all as shown on the map of A.R. Highfield's Addition to the City of Crooked Lake recorded in Plat Book 4, at Page 71 along with that portion of platted and unmaintained right-of-way shown as Hillcrest Drive lying south of Lots 1 through 12, Block 58 as shown on the plat of Stephenson's Addition to Babson Park recorded in Plat Book 19 at Pages 27 and 28, all of the Public Records of Polk County, Florida.
