DESCRIPTION

On December 14, 2014, the Board approved a Master Purchase Agreement with Motorola for radio communication products, accessories and related services. Subsequent amendments were executed by the Board in 2016 (2 amendments), 2019, 2022, and 2025 for system maintenance and equipment purchases. A sixth amendment is now needed to execute a System Upgrade Agreement (SUA II) for a 6-year term from 10/1/2026 - 9/30/2032.

The current SUA, with a 10-year term beginning on 10/1/2016, will expire on 9/30/2026. The SUA II provides software, hardware, and implementation services required to ensure the Public Safety Radio System is kept secure, operational, expandable, and up-to-date. Updates to software and hardware components ensure ongoing availability of repair services support, system expansion, and the latest cybersecurity protection.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board approve the Sixth Amendment to Master Purchase Agreement 15-09 with Motorola Solutions, Inc.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds are budgeted in the Radio Communications Fund for the upcoming fiscal year and will be budgeted in future fiscal years.
